Hand turned food safe wine stopper Australian Banksia Pod.   A Banksia pod is a seed pod from an Australian flowering plant.  Banksia pods start about the size of a large pine cone before turning on the lathe.   In this piece you will see the hollows left by the seed voids and the natural patterned dense inner core.   Definitely a unique piece that will start a conversation over a glass of fine wine.

No clear coat that will chip or yellow. I finish all of my turnings with a high temperature friction polish comprised of natural food grade Carnauba wax.
